Something a Little Different!

Wow!! It has been a long time since I posted to my blog. I just have not had time to post anything. I have been in a crafting slump here lately, and I just haven't had time to craft. But something I have had time to do (and it's a little hobby of mine) is cooking. So I am going to start posting recipes (with pictures) as well as papercrafting stuff. I made these a while ago. They are soooo good. Sorry about the bad photo. I haven't quite mastered how to take pictures of food. These are also great because the meat cooks in the slow cooker. Hope you enjoy!!! Beef Tostadas 1 1/2 lbs. boneless beef round steak 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. black pepper 1/4 cup lime juice 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped 1 jalapeno, seeded and finely chopped 1 large onion, chopped 1 tbsp. chili powder 1/4 tsp. cumin 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper 12 packaged tostada shells 3/4 cup refried beans lettuce shredded mexican blend cheese salsa sour cream 1. Sprinkle steak with salt and pepper. Place 3 tbsp. of the lime juice, the garlic, jalapeno, onion, chili powder, cumin, and cayenne in the slow cooker. Place beef on top and cook on HIGH for 6 hours or LOW for 8 hours. 2. Remove beef and shred. Place shredded beef in a large bowl. 3. Strain remaining liquid in slow cooker over a bowl or measuring cup, discarding solids. Add strained liquid and remaining 1 tbsp. lime juice to beef in bowl. Stir to combine. 4. Warm tostada shells according to package directions. Heat refried beans. 5. Spread refried beans on tostada shell. Top refried beans with meat. Top with lettuce, salsa, cheese, and sour cream. You could even use guacamole if you wanted.

Happy Birthday Wishes!

Hello, everyone! How was everyone's Mother's Day? Mine was great! I had the best day with my little guy! This card was so simple to make. I used Georgia Pacific(white)cardstock as a base. The flower stamp is from SU Just Celebrate. I colored them with watercolor pencils and a blender pen. I'm not sure what company the dragonfly comes from. The patterned paper is from DCWV Spring 2007 stack. I used SU Scalloped edge punch on the PP. The riboon is from Michael's dollar ribbon bin. The sentiment is SU Fun and Fast Notes. Thanks for looking! Have a great week!

I got Mother's Day cards finished early!

Hello, everyone! I'm usually scrambling around last minute trying to get my cards done. They usually get done the day they have to go in the mail! But, I got Mother's Day cards done really early this year. I thought Bloomin Beautiful was the perfect stamp set to use for Mother's Day cards. Now if anyone can give me any ideas on Father's Day cards? I have the hardest time making masculine cards! Now on to the recipe for this card!
Recipe:
Cardstock: Georgia Pacific (white), Stampin Up (Barely Banana and Creamy Caramel)
Patterned Paper: DCWV Spring 2007 stack
Stamps: Stampin Up (Bloomin Beautiful) and Studio G (Mother's Day and swirl)
Accessories: Watercolor pencils, blender pen, and Staz-On Timber Brown ink
Also, I distressed the white cardstock the image is on. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Hello, everyone! Sorry for slacking in my blog posting! I just haven't been crafting alot here lately. For the past couple of weeks my mojo has been MIA. But I think it might be back. I made 2 cards in the past two days!
I made this card last night. The "stamped" image is from Pink Petticoat. It is a digital stamp. The only thing I don't like about digital stamps is with the printer I have, if you watercolor it smears the printer ink. So I just used Primas and OMS. That worked great!
Recipe:
Cardstock: Georgia Pacific (white), Stampin Up (Pretty in Pink)
Patterned Paper: DCWV Spring 2007 stack
Stamp: Pink Petticoat (digi stamp)
Other: ribbon (wal-mart), Prisma pencils, and OMS
Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Celebrate!

Hello, everyone! It has been a busy two weeks here. We are in the process of getting our kitchen and bathrooms remodeled. So that has really put a kink in my crafting! I am trying to find time to work it all in.
This card was a High Hopes sketch challenge. It was originally for the design team tryouts, but I didn't make the deadline. I used My Favorite Things stamp set for this card. Stampin Up for the sentiment. The base cardstock is Georgia Pacific white (found at Wal-Mart). The next layer (brown) is SU Creamy Caramel. The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye. I used Staz-On Timber Brown ink for the stamps. I colored in the stamped image with Prismas and OMS. The blue cardstock is SU Soft Sky. The mat behind the stamped image is SU Barely Banana. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

I used SU's Spiral punch on the grid paper. The circled pattern paper is DCWV Spring Stack 2007. The flowers are from Stampin Up. The brad is from Hobby Lobby. The sentiment is SU's Live Like You Mean It stamped in Staz-On Timber Brown ink.

This is a picture of a sea turtle at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, Georgia. When my son was six months old, we took him to the aquarium.
Okay, so now I nominate:

Calendar Pages

Hello, everyone! Sorry it took me so long to get back to blogging after the move! It has just been so busy here! Even though we moved I did attempt to make a few Christmas gifts, i.e. calendars. I was still working on these calendars the day before Christmas Eve, but thankfully they were all finished to hand out on Christmas Eve. Here they are! They are 8x8 pages on a 10x10 calendar base. Most of the patterned paper is DCWV stacks. Stamps were Studio G, Autumn Leaves, and a few others. I used my Cricut alot. If you have any questions or want to know what brand/cartridge is on a layout/month just ask and I will get the info to you! Thanks for looking and thanks for being patient with me! Have a great day!
