It's been a while since I last posted. Life just gets extremely busy sometimes and you find yourself without the time to blog (or not enough energy at the end of the day). That's what's happened to me. But............I love blogging and archiving all my cards, photos, scrapbooks, and recipes. Even though I don't get many readers, I do get to keep my craftiness here for inspiration to those who do read my blog. I have been crafting more lately, so maybe I can update more often. Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Hi, everyone! I'm back again, this time with a recipe instead of something crafty. I thought with Autumn just around the corner I would post something for the upcoming season. Roasted pumpkin seeds are a great snack. They are incredibly tasty and they are also so easy to make! Here's the recipe:

Pumpkin seeds

Vegetable oil

salt

First you will want to rinse and dry your pumpkin seeds. Next, place on baking sheet and drizzle with just a little amount of vegetable oil and sprinkle with salt. You can then stir them all around if you want. Place in a 325 degree oven and cook 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until lightly toasted. Enjoy! Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Hello! I'm back again with another card! I made this card for my Mom's birthday. I used my Verve Stamps once again. LOVE those stamps!! I used the masking technique (I think that's what it's called) for the flower images.

Before I get to the card recipe, I have a question for you. How do you get out of a crafting slump? I have been so unmotivated to do any crafting. I come up to my craft space and I just draw a blank.

Hello! I know it is way past Father's Day, but I thought I would post this anyway. I just recently discovered Verve Stamps and I LOVE them! That could be a bad thing (for my bank account)! They stamp beautifully. I am just in love with them.

Hi, again! Back again to post another card. Hopefully I can continue to update my blog. I love having this blog as an archive of all my crafts and recipes.

The patterned paper for this card is from My Mind's Eye. The cardstock is SU Soft Sky and Georgia Pacific for the white base. I used SU scallop edge punch and Nesties for the circle and scalloped circle. I used the Happy Birthday cuttlebug folder on the blue cardstock. The stamp is SU's Just Celebrate. I stamped the image with Staz On Timber brown ink. I used SU's watercolor crayons and a blender pen to color the image. I also used Stickles to make the frosting glisten.

Hello, everyone! Finally getting around to posting again. Haven't really had time to post here lately. I am hoping to be able to blog more. Due to some unfortunate circumstances I should have more time to blog. It's hard to keep up with a blog and a job and a 3 year old, and still have time to craft!! I'm exhausted just from typing all that! :) I have been in a crafting slump for the past couple of months. I just can't seem to get in the mood to craft. But in the past couple of days I have been in my craft room alot!

This card was for my in laws' anniversary. I used Stampin Up's Always for the hearts and Stampin Up's So Many Sayings for the sentiment. I used Georgia Pacific white cardstock for the base of the card. I used SU Soft Sky for the blue mat and Deja Views Fresh Prints for the patterned paper. The felt flowers are from SU. The brad came from Hobby Lobby. The ribbon came from my ribbon stash. Oh and I almost forgot about the ink. The brown is Staz On Timber Brown and the blue is SU Soft Sky.

Hello, everyone! First I am going to apologize for being a horrible blogger. I am so busy, but I am learning to multi-task. So, hopefully, I will be blogging more. It is so hard to lose track of things, and this blog is one of them. But from now on I am going to sit down when I have plenty of time and schedule several blog posts on certain days. I just figured out how to do that. I'm slow at figuring things out!:) Today, I have a card to show. I've started taking pictures of recipes I try. From now on I will alternate showing recipes and cards. Hope that is okay with everyone. For this card, I used Georgia Pacific white cardstock for the base of the card. I used SU chocolate chip(??) and Prima brand patterned paper (bought at Michael's a couple of years ago). The flowers are Stampin Up. The button is SEI. The brads I bought at Hobby Lobby. The stamp is from Stampin Up's So Many Sayings. I also used Stampin Up's scallop punch. Thanks for looking!!!

Something a Little Different!

Wow!! It has been a long time since I posted to my blog. I just have not had time to post anything. I have been in a crafting slump here lately, and I just haven't had time to craft. But something I have had time to do (and it's a little hobby of mine) is cooking. So I am going to start posting recipes (with pictures) as well as papercrafting stuff. I made these a while ago. They are soooo good. Sorry about the bad photo. I haven't quite mastered how to take pictures of food. These are also great because the meat cooks in the slow cooker. Hope you enjoy!!! Beef Tostadas 1 1/2 lbs. boneless beef round steak 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. black pepper 1/4 cup lime juice 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped 1 jalapeno, seeded and finely chopped 1 large onion, chopped 1 tbsp. chili powder 1/4 tsp. cumin 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper 12 packaged tostada shells 3/4 cup refried beans lettuce shredded mexican blend cheese salsa sour cream 1. Sprinkle steak with salt and pepper. Place 3 tbsp. of the lime juice, the garlic, jalapeno, onion, chili powder, cumin, and cayenne in the slow cooker. Place beef on top and cook on HIGH for 6 hours or LOW for 8 hours. 2. Remove beef and shred. Place shredded beef in a large bowl. 3. Strain remaining liquid in slow cooker over a bowl or measuring cup, discarding solids. Add strained liquid and remaining 1 tbsp. lime juice to beef in bowl. Stir to combine. 4. Warm tostada shells according to package directions. Heat refried beans. 5. Spread refried beans on tostada shell. Top refried beans with meat. Top with lettuce, salsa, cheese, and sour cream. You could even use guacamole if you wanted.

Hello, everyone! I'm usually scrambling around last minute trying to get my cards done. They usually get done the day they have to go in the mail! But, I got Mother's Day cards done really early this year. I thought Bloomin Beautiful was the perfect stamp set to use for Mother's Day cards. Now if anyone can give me any ideas on Father's Day cards? I have the hardest time making masculine cards! Now on to the recipe for this card!

Hello, everyone! Sorry for slacking in my blog posting! I just haven't been crafting alot here lately. For the past couple of weeks my mojo has been MIA. But I think it might be back. I made 2 cards in the past two days!

I made this card last night. The "stamped" image is from Pink Petticoat. It is a digital stamp. The only thing I don't like about digital stamps is with the printer I have, if you watercolor it smears the printer ink. So I just used Primas and OMS. That worked great!

Hello, everyone! It has been a busy two weeks here. We are in the process of getting our kitchen and bathrooms remodeled. So that has really put a kink in my crafting! I am trying to find time to work it all in.

This card was a High Hopes sketch challenge. It was originally for the design team tryouts, but I didn't make the deadline. I used My Favorite Things stamp set for this card. Stampin Up for the sentiment. The base cardstock is Georgia Pacific white (found at Wal-Mart). The next layer (brown) is SU Creamy Caramel. The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye. I used Staz-On Timber Brown ink for the stamps. I colored in the stamped image with Prismas and OMS. The blue cardstock is SU Soft Sky. The mat behind the stamped image is SU Barely Banana. Hello, everyone! I finally found time to craft! This card is based on the Sketch challenge at Paper Craft Planet. This was just a quick card, but I think it came out great.

The base cardstock is SU's Certainly Celery. I used SU's scalloped Edge punch for the edge. The blue cardstock is SU's Bashful Blue. The grid paper came out of a paper pack I bought at Michael's. I used SU's Spiral punch on the grid paper. The circled pattern paper is DCWV Spring Stack 2007. The flowers are from Stampin Up. The brad is from Hobby Lobby. The sentiment is SU's Live Like You Mean It stamped in Staz-On Timber Brown ink.

Hello, everyone! Sorry it took me so long to get back to blogging after the move! It has just been so busy here! Even though we moved I did attempt to make a few Christmas gifts, i.e. calendars. I was still working on these calendars the day before Christmas Eve, but thankfully they were all finished to hand out on Christmas Eve. Here they are! They are 8x8 pages on a 10x10 calendar base. Hey, everyone! Sorry I have not blogged in such a long time! I am in the middle of moving, buying a house, going back and forth from Alabama to Tennessee, etc. and everything has been so hectic. I have been making a few Christmas gifts for family and that has been taking up a lot of time. I don't have pics yet, and they are all packed up now. Hi, everyone! Sorry I have been MIA this past week. We have been so busy trying to find and buy a house that I really haven't had time to do anything else. The house we had previously put a bid on went sour, so we had to start over. So we went up to Clarksville this past weekend and found a house that we love. We put an offer in and it was accepted. We close on Dec. 5. We are so excited!! We move from here the middle of December. So now that you know the great news, I will get on with the card!

I really went out of my comfort zone with this card. I usually stick to rectangle cards. For the circle base I used Tags, Bags, Boxes and More. The scalloped circle frame was from Mini Monograms. The patterned paper is Sassafras Lass. I used Stampin Up!'s A Flower for all Seasons stamp set. I colored it in with Prisma Pencils and OMS. The "Happy Birthday" is from Lizzie Anne Designs. Hello, everyone! This week has been so crazy that I haven't had a lot of time to update or craft or comment! We are still in the process of counter offering on the house we want to buy! It is so stressful! We should know something by tomorrow, maybe.

Now on to the card! This is my take on the SCS blog group challenge #1. We were supposed to use black and blue. I used Whisper White cardstock as my base. I used Prima Marketing patterned paper (blue with white polka dots). Basic Black to mat the PP. The "HI" is American Crafts Thickers in felt. The scalloped circle was cut using the Cricut and Mini Monograms. I put the holes in each scallop by using my eyelet setter. The ribbon is just from my stash of ribbons. No idea of the brand. Hi, everyone! I finally started on Christmas cards! I finally got settled after our quick trip to house hunt. We found a house and put an offer in. Now we just have to wait and see if they accept our offer! It is driving me CRAZY! Enough about that! On to the card.

This card was very simple to make! I used white cardstock as my base. Both of the patterned papers are DCWV Christmas Stack 2007. The stamps are Studio G. I stamped them with Staz-On Timber Brown ink. I colored the ornaments with Prismas and OMS. I added Stickles to the ornaments. The eyelets were some that came with my Crop a Dile. Very simple! Hello, everyone!! I know I said I was done with Fall cards, but I have one more to show! This was for a swap I participated in. I thought I had already posted, but I looked back and didn't see it.

The seed packet template was from SCSer Katydid creations(?), but her website is no longer viewable and I don't think she is active with SCS anymore. The pumpkin and leaf stamp are from SU!'s Autumn Harvest. I stamped them with Staz-On Timber Brown ink. I colored them with Prismas and OMS. I shaded the pumpkin and leaf with brown chalk. The patterned paper is from A.C. Moore, but I don't know the brand. I used Wild Wasabi cardstock to mat the seed packet. The ribbon is American Crafts.

Hello, everyone! This card was made to submit to a design team, but since I will be moving I decided to wait about applying to a DT.

I used Stampin Up!'s Give Thanks stamp set for the bucket of apples. I colored it with Prisma pencils and OMS. The green mat is Stampin Up!, but at the moment I can't think of the name of the color. The red mat is DCWV Fall 2007 stack. The striped background paper is DCWV Fall stack also. The cream circle was cut out using the Cricut and George cartridge. The "I'm Thankful For" stamp is Studio G. The "you" is alphabet stamps. The ribbon is from American Crafts. I believe that is all. Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Hello, everyone! The card above was super simple to make. I love cards like that! I used my Cricut and Stamped for the letters, and PaperDoll Dressup for the pumpkin and fence. The background paper is DCWV Fall 2007 stack. I also distressed the BOO and the fence with brown chalk. I am getting caught up with my Halloween cards, slowly but surely! Hello, everyone! This is the first Halloween card I have made this year. I really need to hurry and make several more to send to family and friends. I don't have that much time until Halloween! This was a simple card to make. I used DCWV Fall 2007 stack for the circle patterned paper. I cut the circle out with my Cricut and Mini Monograms. The witches boots are a Studio G stamp. I colored them with Prisma Pencils and OMS. The slider is cut out with the Cuttlebug. BOO! is cut out with the Cuttlebug, also. I also outlined the word with a marker. Hey, everyone! My husband and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary Saturday! Time has really flown by. In the above picture are things I made for him. A card, of course. And also, I made him a mini pizza box. On the inside are love coupons and Hershey kisses. The card is similar to the one I posted previously. The patterned paper and heart on the pizza box is Sassafrass Lass. The Love of a Lifetime stamp is from Stampin up!'s So Many Sayings.

Hi! I just have a few minutes to post, so it's gonna be quick. I finally got to play with my new Pocket Silhouettes stamp set. I love every stamp in this set. They are so versatile. You can use them for anything!

For this card, I used my Cricut and Mini Monograms to cut out the tan circle. The blue patterned paper is Me and My Big Ideas. The green background paper is SEI. The ribbon is just some scraps I had. The Thinking of You sentiment is from Lizzie Anne Designs.

Hey, everyone! I had a little time to update today so I thought I would post a card. I love Stampin Up!'s Bloomin Beautiful stamp set. It is so beautiful!

For this card I used the Bloomin Beautiful set. I got the idea for the definition behind the flower in the 2008 Fall-Winter Catalog. I colored the flower with Prisma pencils and OMS. The Thinking of You sentiment is Lizzie Anne Designs. The square rhinestones are from Wal-Mart. The patterned paper is Me and My Big Ideas. I stamped the definition stamp with River Rock ink. Now I have to go and play with my new Pocket Silhouettes stamp set. I will post my creations with that set later in the week. Thanks for looking. Have a great afternoon.

Hey, everyone! I am getting better at updating! I made this card for my stash of birthday cards. I am always needing birthday cards! I just used some scraps from my scrap paper pile. The green paper with polka dots is DCWV Nana's Kids. The blue flowered paper is form DCWV 2007 Spring or Summer stack. The scalloped circle is Cricut Cartridge Mini Monograms. I made the holes in the scallops with my eyelet setter. The Happy Birthday 2 U is from Lizzie Anne Designs. The two tiny cupcakes at the bottom are rub-ons. The 2 U is watercolored with Stampin Up!'s watercolor pencils and a blender pen. The 2 U also has Stickles on it. It is a little hard to see, but I will post a close-up of the glittered part. Let's see, not much else to describe. I don't know what brand the brown and pink patterned paper is. Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Hey, everyone! I was having trouble getting to sleep, so I decided to post a card. I made this card with some of the scraps I had from previous cards. The blue flowered patterned paper is DCWV spring stack 2007 (I think it was the spring stack). The green polka dot patterned paper is DCWV Nana's Kids. All the stamps are Studio G. The flowers are watercolored with watercolor pencils and a blender pen. The scalloped circle is a Cricut cartridge Mini Monograms. I made the holes with my eyelet setter. The scalloped border is decorative scissors and the holes are with the eyelet setter. The center of the flowers have glitter but it is hard to see. Also I tried to sew, but I kinda messed up. I just can't seem to keep this thing updated. I haven't had much time to craft here lately, as I was busy with my little guy's 2nd birthday and family visiting. But I finally made some time to get in my craft cave. The stamped image on the card is Stampin Up's Fun and Fast Notes (LOVE that set). I colored it in with Prisma pencils and OMS. The green background paper is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder (Stylized flowers, I think it's called). The flower at the bottom is two flowers layered together, and held with a brad. I cut the flowers out with the Cuttlebug Olivia font. Patterned paper is American Crafts. "Hello" stamp is a Studio G stamp. I think that is about it! Thanks for looking! Ultrasound Pics

These are ultrasound layouts from my pregnancy 2 years ago. I scrapped them when I was still pregnant, but just got around to taking pictures of them. The title in the first layout was stamped and the B in baby was a foam stamp with paint. I distressed the edges with orange ink. The title in the second layout was done with the Xyron Personal Cutter. I used it once on this layout, HATED it, and took it back and got the Cricut, which I LOVE!!! I kept the journaling private, as it was personal. The ribbon saying It's A Boy came from A.C. Moore. The stickers are Me And My Big Idea. Thanks for looking!! Have a great day!!

Pregnant Layouts

These are layouts of me when I was pregnant. That was 2 years ago!! Doesn't seem like its been that long! I just got around to doing these layouts about a month and a half ago. The font in the first layout was Cuttlebug's Olivia font set. The pea pod was Cricut's New Arrival Cartridge. The second layout I used Cuttlebug's Baby Face font. I used Rose Red Stampin Up! cardstock, American Crafts patterned paper, Stylized Flowers embossing folder, and Stampin Up!'s Fun and Fast Notes for the stamped image. I colored it with prisma pencils and gamsol. Sentiment is another Lizzie Anne designs stamp. Ribbon is just some I got at Wal-Mart. Thanks for looking!

This is a card I made for a swap. For the swap we had to use 2 of the following colors: red, white, and dark blue. I used rose red and whisper white. The stamped image is Stampin Up!'s Fun and Fast Notes. Colored it with Gamsol and Prisma pencils. The sentiment is Lizzie Anne Designs Simply Sentiments. Patterned paper is American Crafts. The flower on the bottom is done with the Cuttlebug Olivia font set. Brad is from Queen and Co. And just some simple sewing around the edges. I made this card for my Grandmother. Not sure what brand the patterned paper is. Happy birthday sentiment is a Lizzie Anne Designs stamp. Flowers are Prima. Added some buttons to the centers of the flowers. Also, I tried my hand at sewing. This is one of the first times I have tried sewing. I think I did okay. Thanks for looking!
